I had lunch at his place today (and also to help out a bit in their family business).

I was leaning on the counter, watching his sister shape a large ball of fondant. His mother was multitasking; baking fruit cakes and cooking our lunch at the same time.

He sat on the other end of the table, opposite his dad. I was in the next seat to his left.

We had some delicious shellfish (his favorite) for lunch today. For dessert, his dad had me sample their fruit cake and specialty cookies. Afterwards, I talked to his mom about Japanese food over tea which she had brewed herself.

I almost lived there.
